9D Breathwork Study
From Stress to Strength 2025
We are conducting a study to determine the effect of doing 9D Breathwork over a 12 week period on ability to reduce reactions to stress, improve focus, motivation and inspiration and decrease procrastination to achieve a personal goal.
We are looking for 24 volunteers to carry out the study.

What is required by you to be in the study?
- Participate in at least 8 Breathwork sessions in a 12 week period from Oct 4 to Dec 20, 2025. All sessions are on site and live located at Studio TimeOut: 6001 Lyndale Ave S, Mpls, MN.
- The live sessions will be scheduled 3 times a week through the 12 week session. You only need to attend 8 total sessions spread out through the 12 weeks. Sessions will tentatively be on Saturday mornings 10am, Sunday evenings 6pm and a week night at 6:30pm most likely Thursday. You pick and choose which times you want to attend.
- Fill out a weekly progress report and turn it in
- Watch the pre-study videos and understand the contents before coming in for the first session.
- Respond to emails sent throughout the program
- Do short Breathworks (5-20 minutes) at home in between the group sessions using your own headphones and your device such as iPad, phone or computer.
- Space out your 8 sessions throughout the 12 weeks and not do them all at once (such as 3 x week for 2.5 weeks…. not that!).Â
- Participate in discussions and share appropriately with others in the group.
- Be sincere about joining this study and do your best
- You don’t need to be experienced with Breathwork at all. Those brand new to Breathwork and the more experienced can join in the study.
- Set aside $200 cash in an envelope with your name on it to be given back to you when you finish the study. This is to help avoid people from dropping out and not finishing. We do want everyone to finish.

To qualify to join the study …..
- You must be able to do vigorous breathing and not be limited by various health problems that prohibit you from being able to breathe heavily and fully into your belly.
- No recent surgeries that deep breathing will aggravate
- You must not be pregnant or planning to get pregnant during the study
- You must not be on heavy psychiatric medications such as antipsychotics, multiple antidepressants, high dose lithium, benzodiazepines, etc or a combination of any of these.
- You must not be dealing with moderate to severe PTSD.
- You must be free from alcohol addiction and/or recreational drug use
- You must be free from severe cardiovascular problems where vigorous breathing would make your condition worse or create a dangerous situation for you.
- You must show up in clothing and all other belongings free from cigarette smoke, dryer sheets, scented laundry detergent, laundry/fabric softener and laundry scent boost.
- You are looking for a change in your life, you may have trouble getting things done, you may feel scattered and react to stress poorly, you have a goal you would like to achieve but you possibly have fear around it or you feel like giving up and/or you just cannot keep focus to get it done. Maybe mild depression/lack of energy or anxiety are getting in your way. The main part here is we are looking for people wanting to improve their lives but are having trouble doing it. We are looking for people who want to take action in their lives and see if and how much the 9D Breathwork can help you with this.
What is 9D Breathwork?

It’s a technique, using deep vigorous breathing, to change your brain waves (during the session)… not a permanent change. The deep breathing helps your brain waves move out of the “monkey mind” over analysis, overthinking, obsessing mode. This brain wave state helps your body to tap into it’s innate healing mode. Healing can mean letting go of past trauma held in the body. Healing can also mean a flood of inspiration and new ideas that seeming come out of nowhere. All this is powered by your breath. The breathing DOES feel effortful. This is not a relaxing practice. You just need to focus on taking the deep breaths and your body will take it from there. The deep breathing and brain wave state change is the key to tapping into the wisdom of your body and allowing it to heal itself.
Most of us are not used to doing that…trusting our bodies. We like to learn and think and control…. and those are not bad things….. but we often ignore what our body has to offer and have no idea how to tap into our body. Here we can let go of all that during the Breathwork session.
You will use headphones (provided) and listen to recording that includes specifically chosen healing frequencies, a person talking, hypnotic suggestion (that you can hear). You’ll experience many different themes in the Breathworks (they are all different). Some are very activating and some are down regulating.Â
You will sit up or lie down for your sessions. There will be a trained facilitator in the room throughout the Breathwork session and it will be live at the studio (not online). You will need to come to the studio to do the sessions.
The live, in person Breathworks we do will be mostly the hour long Breathwork journeys. It’s important to spread these out and not do multiple journeys in one week as they work deeply and you will need time to integrate.
It would be best for you to go to YouTube, search “9D Breathwork” and listen to or do some of the short (5-20 minutes) Breathworks they provide… before filling out the application. You’ll get an idea of what this is.

We are looking for people who are serious about making change in their lives and serious about completing the study. There is no “catch” on our part and you will not need to purchase anything except your own headphones for at-home use if you don’t already have some. Any headphones will work.
